North Korea threatens to attack South Korea next week if anti-Pyongyang leaflets dropped in the region on Monday.
Previously, a number of escape from North Korea who now lives in the South plans to send air balloons containing leaflets.
In the bubble that was already set up as many as 20,000 copies the contents are criticizing the Pyongyang government.
Plan balloon flight was conducted in the tourist town of Paju, located 60 km north of the capital, Seoul.
"If the leaflets were dropped until then we will make a deadly attack without warning first," the government statement quoted by news agency KCNA.
Hearing this, the South Korean government immediately expressed rebuttal.
"If it (the attack) occurs, we will respond in the direction of the shots were fired," said the South Korean defense minister, Kim Kwan-jin.
"We never underestimate the threat from North Korea," said Chairman Fighters For a Free North Korea, Park Sang-right.
On Wednesday (10/17/2012), South Korea held a large-scale military exercises to counter the threat of North Korean invasion.
Exercise codenamed Hoguk was held a week-long and involved 240,000 members of the army, navy, and air force, and marine corps
